Privacy Policy

MastoBlaster is built with a privacy-first approach. This page explains what data is handled by the app and how it is processed.

MastoBlaster is a client application for Fediverse platforms compatible with the Mastodon API, including Mastodon, snac, GoToSocial, Akkoma, and other similar software.

Data Collection

MastoBlaster does not collect, store, or process personal data on servers operated by the developer.

All account data, posts, media, relationships, and interactions are handled exclusively by the Fediverse server selected by the user.

Authentication

Authentication is performed using the OAuth mechanism provided by the selected server. Access tokens are stored securely on the user’s device and are never transmitted to or stored by the developer.

On-Device Processing

Certain features, such as optional alt text generation using Apple Intelligence, are processed entirely on device through Apple-provided APIs on supported devices. No media or generated descriptions are sent to the developer.

Media Privacy

When uploading media, the app strips EXIF metadata, except for information required for HDR and orientation. This ensures that original metadata is not transmitted to the selected server.

Data Processing and Federation

MastoBlaster acts solely as a client interface. Storage, moderation, federation, and content policies are governed entirely by the server chosen by the user. Users should review the privacy policy of their selected instance.

Analytics and Tracking

The app does not use analytics services, advertising frameworks, tracking technologies, or third-party data collection SDKs.

Third-Party Services

Any content shared within the Fediverse is subject to the terms and privacy policy of the specific server selected by the user.
